Do you like reading books, short stories or plays in English? Would you like to join a group of literature lovers that meet on a regular basis to share and discuss what they have read at home? If your answer to both questions is YES, you’ve come to the right place. Literature improves our language awareness, expands our vocabulary and deepens our understanding of different cultural backgrounds, values and attitudes. In our Literature Club we will look at various British authors from different literary periods. You’ll be given sufficient time to read their works at home (four weeks). In our club sessions, we will then discuss aspects like setting, characters, plot and themes and share our own personal opinions and feelings.
For our three club sessions please read the following literary pieces:
9th April 2024 – "Agnes Grey" by Anne Brontë
23rd April 2024 – "1984" by George Orwell
28th May 2024 – "The Girl with all the gifts" by M. R. Carey
Participants should have at least a B2 level of English.
